Gang violence continued across Metro Vancouver Monday with a murder in Surrey and a targeted shooting in North Vancouver.
I was not covering either shooting, but wanted to put a blog post up so people can comment on what they think is happening.
Surrey RCMP said officers responded to a shots fired call in the parking lot of the Comfort Inn in the 8200-block of 166th Street about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
“Upon police attendance, a man was located inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite all attempts to revive the individual, he succumbed to his injuries,” Cpl. Scotty Schumann said in a news release.
He said the Integrated Homicide Team had been called and would be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP investigators.
There is already a lot of information out there about the identity of the victim. I don’t have that name officially confirmed so am not yet posting it.
Meanwhile in North Vancouver, RCMP were called to the 800-block of East 12th Monday afternoon where a man was wounded in a shooting.
He was taken to hospital. But his condition is unknown.
